“Life is very good and more optimistic than ever.” Those are the words of an American author, computer scientist, inventor and futurist.
Ray Kurzweil spoke at the CTA Hall of Fame dinner last night where he told us that consumer technology is the most advanced technology in the world, far more advanced than the military. His book, “The Singularity Is Near” was a New York Times bestseller, and has been the #1 book on Amazon in both science and philosophy.
Gary Shapiro, CEO of CTA, said “The Singularity Is Near,” is one of the most intelligent books ever written. Kurzweil is also involved in fields such as optical character recognition (OCR), text-to-speech synthesis, speech recognition technology, and electronic keyboard instruments.
He has written books on health, artificial intelligence (AI), transhumanism, the technological singularity, and futurism.
Wikipedia said that, “Kurzweil is a public advocate for the futurist and transhumanist movements, and gives public talks to share his optimistic outlook on life extension technologies and the future of nanotechnology, robotics, and biotechnology.”
I recorded his 11 minute speech last night because it was a fascinating take on the world around us. The video is inferior because of where I was sitting, but the sound is great.
Be ready to be wowed.
